I haven't blogged in a long time... I am yet again training for another marathon. And really, I just plain love the great outdoors and summer is the best time to do this. Honestly, I would much rather be biking, roller-blading or running than inside on a computer. But I just came back from a 26km run and hurt my toe so I am resting with an ice pack. Perfect time to work-out my fingers on the keyboard.
Today was a tough run, besides the toe, I am trying to up my speed so that extra push I am feeling. And of course, each week we up our mileage so that too means digging deep. I noticed in todays run the importance of a good core, especially at the end when my body was getting fatigued. Also, the strength of my glutes, when your psoas and quad muscles are fatiguing from over use, they can kick in and kick some @ss! And lastly, going up a hill and there were plenty today, keeping good posture with the chest open for steady but deep breathes.
So when I got home I decided to do some Sun Salutations just to loosen things up, was feeling tight after pounding the payment. But also some Ab work, one of my FAV's, Single Leg Stretch. Just like this adorable PUP... Maybe you should too, looks like he's having some fun.
Speaking of fun, I going to read my book in the hammock and enjoy some summer!
